To say this L.A Magazine piece put me on the map as a Hollywood Headshot Photographerwould be a great understatement.
The article quickly became a cult classic that was passed around in acting workshops, discussed by students and mentioned by Sam Rubin on KTLA CH 5. Good Day L.A hired me from the article and I shot all their on-air and off-air talent headshots.
Many people held on to the article (for as long as 5 years after it hit the newstands), asking me if I was still honoring that price.
Why was the article controversial and Barian Studios (now Melrose Headshots) the most talked about photographer of the piece?
Because it de-bunked the notion that you had to pay the priciest headshot photographers to get noticed by casting directors (I was charging $35 per roll at the time).
If you have time, read the article…it will all make sense after you do.
