You have landed!

Welcome.
Melroseheadshots is now in it’s 11th year!

In Jan. 2000 I opened my photography studio on Melrose ave.@ Gardner St. in Hollywood. I was in that corner building across Johnny Rockets for 8 years till December 2008 (hence the name Melrose Headshots).
I now shoot exclusively out of my home studio in Tarzana Ca. which has excellent natural light and cool locations for on-location photography as well.

Sonia Doubell

I photographed Sonia multiple times and it always yielded a few gems.
Partly because she’s talented but also because she’s ravishingly beautiful. It was she who referred me to Patrick Muldoon (seen below)

Jason Kennedy

You probably recognize Jason from E! News as he’s constantly working!
I shot Jason twice and this headshot from our second session is the one his manager used to submit him to E!

Lennai

It was hard not to notice this tall, red-haired beauty waitressing at a nearby eaterie. I gave her my card hoping one day we would shoot and sure enough that day did come! I love her look and there were many jewels from our session.

Patrick Muldoon

Patrick had an easy manner about him and the make-up artist was immediately drawn to him. We talked a lot about music as he was in a band at the time, and I mentioned my past as the lead singer in Ism Ism It (which featured System of a Down’s original drummer Andy).
This shot got him back in the mix auditioning again after a long lay-off from acting.

Commercial Actress

I used to shoot on-location exclusively, often times in the back alley behind my studio (I knew all the spots that had good light and at what time of the day) I love her shirt here as it adds some character to her already charismatic look.

Greg Horos

Greg referred many an actress to me, and in return he got free headshots. We often had lunch together as he had an apt. in my building. I used to be amazed that in his tiny little studio, he devoted one whole wall to his headshots. Literally more than 20 different boxes of multiples all shot from different photographers. Both here and from NY. Many were mine. But this shot was one of the ones that casting directors always picked in their top 2 from his portfolio of many. We were always chasing a laugh and got each others funny bone pretty good. Ironically enough, this shot was taken very impromptu as I was waiting for him outside of Reproductions in North Hollywood. He came out and I saw the backlight hitting his hair…so I said “can you stand here for a second Greg?” Then boom! Yes, he was picking up more multiples LOL.

Green-Eyed Theatrical Beauty

One of the most intensely piercing eyes i’ve ever photographed. She was mesmerizing. No photoshop done here to pop her eyes…they look like that naturally.

Crystal

My favorite from our session (more can be seen in the 2011 link above).
Her smile was inviting and charismatic…so, I made the decision to shoot appx. 80% commercial and only about 20% theatrical.

Kim Kardashian

One of the rare times I worked the red carpet. I took this shot right before Keeping up with the Kardashian’s premiered. I did not who she was at the time (other than a stunning woman in a red dress!)

The above pics were selected because they represent my style… which is simple, honest and direct.
